A Time of Peace at Christmas

Dove of peaceThis December, we are offering an opportunity for those seeking a more personal, reflective Advent worship experience. Perhaps this year has been one of personal loss, financial difficulty, or the stress of all the holiday hoopla is just too much and you need a break, then this is a service designed for you. There will be an opportunity to lift up those that have been a part of our lives and to give your burdens to God. Those that attended last year found this to be a very powerful time in their lives. Perhaps it can be for you as well. There is nothing to sign-up for and nothing to bring.

Nativity Open House - Bring Us Your Nativities

Do you have a favorite tabletop nativity scene that you would like to share with our church family? Does it have a story? How old is it? Has it been passed down from your grandparents or someone else or did you buy it new? Is it from a different country? Tell us about your nativity and then we would love to display your tabletop nativity at our Nativity Open House on December 8!

Here’s the scoop:

What:
Your tabletop nativity, along with your name, phone or email and the story, if there is one (No story? That's fine!). Please keep nativity stories to 25 words or less.

How:

  • Bring your nativity to the church between Monday, December 2 and Friday, December 6.
  • You will need to call the church office at 630.968.7120 to let us know when you will be coming as we'll need to let you into the display (the room will be locked all week)
  • Pick up your nativity after 1:00 on Sunday, December 8 or on Monday, December 9.

When:
The Open House display will be available for church members to view on Sunday, December 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Worship Committee will oversee the nativities during the Open House to make sure they stay safe.
