10:00am

Worship Service

Preacher:
Terry McDorman
Celebrate the Gift!
Music:

Abby, Andrea, and Mary Davenport

The birth of Jesus Christ is the birthday we celebrate every year and the reason we do this is... well, sometimes we need to be reminded to celebrate. Jesus gave to every single person that has or will exist on this planet, if only for a moment, eternal salvation. That is the great news of Christmas.

Join us as we celebrate the Gift at our ONE worship service at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 29. Bring a friend, neighbor or family member who is visiting!

Get Messy

It is sometimes difficult to have children attend church. They don’t like to sit still or be quiet or just listen. Frankly, I don’t blame them. I want children to be who they are…active, creative, and lively!

Get Messy is an opportunity for children along with their families do just that. It is on the second Sunday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to about 12:30 p.m. There is a time to make crafts as a family, a short (and lively) time of gathering, and a family friendly lunch. This time is about building community along with thinking about that greater power that is creator and love of all.

Don’t worry about getting messy, or being too loud, or squirming too much…just come and have fun with your family! Everyone is welcome at Get Messy!

There is no cost but we need a head count for food and supplies, so please register using the form below. Contact John Smoke for more information. Get Messy will be in the church gym at First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Avenue, Downers Grove, IL.
