Stella Natalis, by contemporary composer Karl Jenkins, celebrates different aspects of Christmastide - winter, the sleeping child, tidings of peace, thanksgiving - with text sources ranging from Psalms to Carol Barratt. Conveying the Christmas message of peace, goodwill, compassion and a new beginning, Stella Natalis (‘star of birth’, ‘star of origin’) is certain to welcome and inspire this Advent season. Virtuoso trumpet (Tom Tait), strings and percussion join the choir to create a celestial atmosphere, rather like ”Star Wars” becoming spiritual.

There is no Sunday School at this service, but there will be a children's sermon, after which children will return to their family to experience worship.
