A Service of Christmas Peace

Christmas Peace

For many, especially those who have lost a loved one, or are in other times of struggle, the Christmas Season is difficult. A special Service of Christmas Peace will be held on Sunday, December 6, at 8:15am in the Chapel.

This service will include time for reflection, remembering those we hold in our hearts and hearing the promise of comfort, hope and peace that Christmas proclaims.

All are welcome.

Sunday Worship Service - Visitors from United Church of Rogers Park

This Sunday at all three services, we will welcome Deacon Wes Dorr and lay leader Sabrina Bermingham from the United Church of Rogers Park, our sister church in Chicago with which we have an on-going connection of supportive giving and annual mission trips. We have an additional connection in that former DGFUMC member Rev. Catiana McKay has been the pastor at Rogers Park since 2007.

During worship Wes and Sabrina will share the Message based on Luke 13:6-9 and describe their congregation’s work in the neighborhood including community meals, after school programs for children and their Peace Circle - conversations with teens and young adults that encourage positive choices in their lives.

We hope you will join us.

Piano Dedication - Sunday, November 8

Please join us this Sunday at both the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship services as we dedicate our new sanctuary grand piano. Be ready for some spectacular piano highlights! From solos to duets, you won't want to miss out hearing how both ebony and ivory tickle your musical musings!

Hearing Loop System Available on the Main Floor of the Sanctuary

DGFUMC is pleased to provide the Hearing Loop System for use on the main floor of the Sanctuary.

A hearing loop is a wire that circles a room and is connected to a sound system. The loop transmits the sound electromagnetically. The electromagnetic signal is then picked up by the t-coil in a hearing aid or cochlear implant.

Users with a t-coil in their hearing aid can now listen to the service directly through their hearing aids. Please check with your hearing care professional to see if your hearing aid is equipped with a t-coil and properly adjusted. Non-hearing aid users can pick-up a headset to use at the sound board.

To learn more about the Hearing Loop System, please see the flyer below..

Together @ 10... We are ONE Worship Service and Pancake Breakfast

On Sunday, October 25 join us for a special service where the 9:30 and 11:00 services will be combined into ONE service at 10:00 a.m. This is a great time to make new friends, re-connect with old friends and bring guests to visit our church.

This Sunday is also our Choir Dedication Sunday. Each choir (bells, too!) will be presenting special music for the congregation.

Stop by the gym before or after the 10:00 service to continue in fellowship and enjoy a Pancake Breakfast served by the youth. Proceeds help support Youth Ministries.

Please note the 8:15 a.m. service will still be held in Chapel Hall.
