Chapel Choir Tour Home Concert

Welcome home the Chapel Choir from the 2019 Choir Tour, God is Greater than the Waves. The choir spent Spring Break travelling to the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area asharing God's message through music and scripture. You are invited to share in their message at this special home concert in the Sanctuary.

All are welcome to join us as the Chapel Choir presents TWO sneak peeks of its upcoming Spring Break Tour program, God is Greater Than the Waves. Join them! 

Sunday, March 10 at 3:00 p.m. Roselle United Methodist Church, 206 S. Rush Street, Roselle. This concert also includes Roselle UMC's Praise Group. Fellowship will follow at the Second Sunday Supper provided by the Roselle Lion's Club.

Please join us for our services on Monday, December 24:

4:00 p.m. - Family Worship

A worship celebration specially geared for children, with music provided by the Children's Choirs. Rev. John Smoke will share the message.

7:00 p.m. - Family Service with Communion

A family worship service featuring the Connection Choir. We will share in Christmas Eve communion as well as a candlelight carol-sing. The message will be given by Rev. Wesley Dorr, our Pastor of Youth Ministries.

9:00 p.m. - Traditional Candlelight Service

A traditional Christmas Eve service with the Chancel Choir and a candlelight carol-sing.

10:15 - 10:45 p.m. Come & Go Communion

Christmas Eve communion, served by Pastor Claude and Pastor Anna, in a come-and-go style in the Chapel.

11:00 p.m. - Traditional Candlelight Service

A traditional Christmas Eve service featuring the Chapel Choir and a carol-sing to greet the first moments of Christmas morning.

Caroling Around the World

Gather your friends and families and come enjoy the Chancel Choir Christmas Cantata, Caroling Around the World, this Sunday, December 2.

We open our hearts to familiar and new carols from 20 countries featuring vocal and instrumental soloists with the Chancel Choir.

Rev. John Smoke, our Christian Education Director, will lead the global tour for children, and projection designs will enhance our music without borders.

The 55-voice Chancel Choir is conducted by Ms. Diane Hires.

Chapel Choir Welcome Supper, Parent Meeting and Registration

ATTENTION: High School Students and Parents!

You are cordially invited to attend the Chapel Choir kick-off dinner and informational meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29 in the DGFUMC gym. Our FIRST REHEARSAL will follow from 7-8:30pm.

This annual event signals the start of another exciting year for Chapel Choir, highlighted by the 2019 Spring Break Tour to Dallas.  Weekly rehearsals begin Wednesday, September 5 at 7:00 p.m.

We encourage you to invite friends to share a meal and learn about plans and activities for the coming year.  All 9th-12th grade students are welcome. There will be registration cards and permission/medical forms to complete, as well as several volunteer sign-up sheets.  The tentative calendar will be discussed and pertinent information distributed. There will also be ample opportunity to have your questions answered. 

To assist with logistics, please let Don (don@dgfumc.org) know how many will be attending by Tuesday, August 28.

Chapel Choir Christmas Concert

Please join the Chapel Choir as they present their Christmas Concert, A Little Bit of Hope. This program of uplifting holiday sounds will be directed by Nick Loos and accompanied by Kevin Zehme.

Admission is free, but donations are sincerely appreciated. All money raised supports the Chapel Choir program and their Spring Break Tour as they share their gift of music and spread the word of the Gospel through their music. 

We encourage you to invite family, friends, and neighbors as we rejoice in the birth of our Lord and Savior with this program of holiday music.

Welcome Our New Chapel Choir Director

We are very thankful that Nick Loos, a gifted musician and educator, has accepted the offer to serve as Chapel Choir Director starting this school year. You will soon see him directing the Choir at our 9:30 a.m. worship service.

Nick is a 2011 graduate of North Central College who has been a music teacher at several elementary, junior and high schools. He is currently responsible for the music program at Field Elementary School in Wheeling, IL. Nick loves music, choral directing and working with youth.

Nick cherishes this opportunity to lead our Chapel Choir. You may recognize Nick as he has sung in several cantatas with the Chancel Choir as a guest singer. Please welcome Nick when you see him!
