Downer's Grove First United Methodist Church - September 21 Update

Our church community's health and welfare is of great importance to us during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Downers Grove First United Methodist Church's (DGFUMC) building remains closed until Sunday, September 27. At that time, we will open for worship on Sundays, but the building will remain locked and closed at all other times.

Other than worship, there will be no in-person meetings, activities, or gatherings allowed at DGFUMC without prior approval. All in-person indoor activities and events remain canceled, including Friday Night at the Movies.

The preschool began holding classes on September 1 and the staff closely follows the guidelines set forth by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

We have a Return Team and a Health Team in place to make decisions. We continue to monitor the situation in following the Illinois Department of Public Health, Dupage County Health Department, and State of Illinois guidelines and will keep you updated on the website and by email.

Worship services also will continue to be offered online on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. through Zoom.

Our church staff is working hard to ensure the essential work of the church is completed on behalf of the congregation and community and will be in the building as needed.

The office phone (630.968.7120) is answered during our regular hours from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The building doors will remain locked during our office hours. If you need to visit the church office, please call first to make an appointment to ensure that a staff member will be available in their office. Masks will be required in the building at all times.
